Your Apple Device Could be Exploited if you do not Update it

According to TechCabal, Apple announced two security vulnerabilities in its software last week. Apple feared the vulnerabilities could be exploited by hackers so therefore made an important announcement. One of the plot security holes could allow hackers to gain remote access to users’ devices.

Apple has announced that users should update their devices to avoid becoming victims of this security flaw. The latest release is the iOS 15.6.1 update, which has patched up the security flaw to stop hackers from getting access to your device.

Additionally, if you are not sure how to update your iPhone, the steps are listed below:

  • Go to iPhone Settings
  • Go to the General
  • Go to Software update, to download and install iOS 15.6.1.


More tips: The update is approximately 300 MB and takes about 30 minutes to install.

About the Vulnerabilities
However, Apple believes the two security flaws are related. One affects the browser engine that powers Safari and other apps. The second vulnerability allows hackers to gain full access to your device. The vulnerability affects Apple’s iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

The affected apple models include the iPhone 6S models and later. For iPad models, it is the iPad fifth generation and later, iPad Air 2, and all iPad Pro models. Mac computers, running the Monterey Operating system, as well as some iPods are also affected.

Experts advise users to freeze their credit. If a crime has been committed under your name, contact the authorities. Using the same password for different apps makes it easier for hackers to access our devices. Victims are advised to change their passwords and get a password manager to keep track of all passwords.
