United Arab Emirates Biggest Telecom Firm Suffered Cyber-Disruption

Loading

Anonymous Sudan announced on its official Telegram page it had completed a successful cyber disruption on one of the United Arab Emirates telecom providers, Thuraya, and had brought it to its knees.

United Arab Emirates Lost all Infrastructure

The announcement came shortly after the Israeli Haifa Port Company and Israel Ports Development and Assets Company Ltd had their main digital infrastructure, including network devices, network administration devices, routers, SNMP & email servers, VPN and internal servers, as well as important client-side endpoints struck down by the threat actors.

Moreover, sources confirmed that Thuraya’s satellites and telecommunications were subject to cyberattacks and they lost all services for some time. Anonymous Sudan claimed all damage done to the firm internal system and critical operating data.

Notably, the firm operates two geosynchronous satellites and provides telecommunications coverage in more than 161 countries in Europe, the Middle East, North, Central, and East Africa, Asia, and Australia. Some sources claimed that the intrusion affected these infrastructures too.

As of the time of writing, the affected firm has not responded to claims from the threat actors. They failed to offer details of the damage they sustained during the attack. Additionally, the firm has yet to make any official statement on the attack and the damages done.

Israel’s Group of Oil Refinery Becomes The New Victim

Anonymous Sudan found its new victim in Israel as the group continues its rabid attack on the country. Israel faced another cyber attack on the digital infrastructure of one of the biggest oil refining and petrochemical companies in Israel, Bazan.

Arguably, the Bazan Group is the cornerstone of Israeli industry and many refer to it as an economic powerhouse. Bazan Group, formerly Oil Refineries Ltd., is an oil refining and petrochemicals firm located in Haifa Bay, Israel.

Additionally, the firm operates the largest oil refinery in the country. The threat actors claimed to have struck the entire infrastructure hard, however, it states, that some irrelevant public-facing BAZAN websites may be up, and the important infrastructure servers are confirmed to be entirely down.
