Ukraine Scores More Victory With Its Cyber Attack on Russia

Ukraine IT army launched attacks on the Russian ministry over the weekend. The affected sector, the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Utilities, had its website display a message in support of Ukraine.

The offensive was successful as the text “Glory to Ukraine” was displayed on the site. However, the victory was shortlived as it was taken down hours to the time of writing. Aside from the display on the webpage, every other aspect looked normal.

Ukraine did not Leak User Data

The hackers were presumed to be after users’ data but the Russians disclosed there was no loss of data from the breach that took place. Nonetheless, the concerned authorities affirmed that the Ministry suffered a cyber attack.

According to the Russian business news website Kommersant, which disclosed how a notorious hacking team called DumpForum.com.team penetrated the website of the ministry, government, housing, health and utilities to gain administrative access to confidential information.

However, these hackers demanded 0.5 bitcoin by stating their threat towards the release of the ministry employees data to the public. It was further disclosed how the database of the ministry was exfiltrated.

Attacks have been exchanged amongst hackers after the invasion of Ukraine on 24th February. An unknown Ukrainian IT army hacker force also deployed threats action and vulnerability to Russia’s state-owned enterprises and businesses. Financial loss occurred which led to redundancy in businesses.

The United Nations gave remarks on the significant number of refugee crises that occurred after World War II. There was displacement from over 12.8 million people due to the conflict with over 6.9 million people fleeing from the country. Crisis like this has diminished the welfare and growth of the country negatively.

Due to gross and systematic violations and abuses of human rights by Russian forces, the Russians were suspended from their duty from the UN Human Rights Council.
