UK Police Allegedly Arrested GTA 6 Hacker

Loading

London Police have arrested the GTA VI leaker. The law enforcement department made the bust on Thursday evening, just days after the FBI got involved.

Officials have not published the name of the teen suspect, nor have they declared openly the charges he faces.

However, the  City of London Police arrested a 17-year-old Oxfordshire resident suspected of hacking Rockstar and Uber. Police officials say they were aided by NCCU with the investigation.

Ongoing Investigation On Youth Alleged Crime

In line with references of former Reuters reporter Matthew Keys, the unidentified teen is suspected of belonging to the hacker group known as Lapsus$.

Moreover, Lapsus$ uses the privacy-focused messaging app Telegram to oversee, which the NCCU and other law-enforcement agencies have moved into and have been scrutinizing for a while now. Keys also says the FBI was involved.

At this point, the police have not disclosed any arrest details other than the suspect is an injunction.

Furthermore, Since the alleged hacker is a minor, officials could suppress his name until they get legal consent. London Police and the FBI will likely publish more evidence within the next few days.

Occurrences steering to the arrest began when a user on GTAForums named teapotuberhacker, posted over 90 videos and images from the developing GTA VI.

Same Hacker Allegedly On Headlines Hacks

This leak ensued only days after a threat actor using the character teapot2022 breached Uber’s innermost systems and disclosed 57 million customer data.

A member of Lapsus$ with the alias TeaPot professed accountability for both attacks. At that point, Uber began working with the FBI and others to recognize Tea Pot. The FBI also unwrapped an investigation into the Rockstar hack just days ago.

The teen’s detention is not the first that London Police have conducted. In March, UK law enforcement ransack and arrested seven plausible members of Lapsus$.

However, Police suspected that one of them was Tea Pot, but officers have not ascertained whether the man confined to Oxfordshire pertained to the previous bust.
