Swedish Police Targeted in Cyber Attack: Anonymous Sudan Takes Credit

In an act of cyber warfare the Swedish Police are currently facing an onslaught from a hacking collective called Anonymous Sudan.

This group has recently claimed responsibility for infiltrating all systems of the Swedish police and has issued a threat to completely halt their operations.

Claims of Bringing the Swedish Police to a Standstill

On their Telegram page, Anonymous Sudan boldly declared that they have taken control of the Swedish Police systems and intend to bring them to a standstill. While the law enforcement agencies have not officially responded, reports indicate that they are denying any attacks.

However, this announcement by the hackers raises concerns about the effectiveness of the police force’s cybersecurity measures. Nonetheless, the attack is one of the hackers’ traditions. They claim that every February 14, they’ll launch a devastating attack on Sweden for previous transgressions. They further taunted the security forces to repel the intrusion if they could.

In other news, the group continues their reign of terror with a recent assault on a hospital in the US. In their words, the band said “Reason for the attack is self-explanatory. The US is funding the Israeli war machine against children and funds other forms of genocide all across the world, including using veto against the UN ceasefire. Cyber attacks against the US will continue.”

They added, “We therefore claim any damage to the hospital Cedars-Sinai and their health systems + any collateral damage.”

Both attacks were most likely DDoS. For example, in the final post with regards to the hospital, the hackers said the attack has gone on for more than three hours and added a screenshot of the site as evidence. Additionally, the intrusion on the Swedish police force went on with no reports of the group leaking any documents.

Anonymous Sudan continues to blur the lines between hacktivism and outright blackhats with its recent attacks
