A Reddit employee’s credentials were stolen in a hacked phishing attack

Reddit employees had been receiving conceivable-sounding prompts, which lead to a website that impersonated the looks and behavior of its intranet gateway, devised as a form to steal people’s logins and second-factor tokens.

Users Attained Reddit Team Response And Assurance

While one employee did fall for the scheme, they instantly self-reported. This however allowed the website’s security team to react quickly and cut off the infiltrators’ entry.

Subsequently, a Reddit spokesperson said the threat actors were able to gain access to some of the website’s internal docs, and code, and some internal dashboards and operational business systems.

Furthermore, Contact data for hundreds of company contracts, existing and former employees, and some advertisers were also exposed.

However, They assured users, that the security team investigating the issue has found no proof that their passwords or any of their non-public data have been compromised.

The team further clarify that no information stolen from Reddit has been distributed online — at least, at this point in the investigation.

Further, he asserted that the website is continuing to investigate and monitor the situation closely essentially sustaining confidence in its users.

Google Fi Warns About Data Compromised

Early this month, Google informed customers of its Fi mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service that threat actors were able to gain entry to some of their information.

Meanwhile, The tech giant asserted that the threat actors infiltrated a third-party system used for customer support at Fi’s primary network provider. However, Google didn’t name the provider outright, Fi depends on US Cellular and T-Mobile for connectivity.

Back then, the carrier pressed that no passwords, payment information, or social security numbers were stolen.

However, Google Fi says The hackers only seemingly had access to phone numbers, account statuses, SMS card serial numb, ers and some service plan information, like international roaming.

Essentially, specific details were not divulged by either Google Fi or its carrier, simply leaving its audiences hanging.
