Ex-business development manager Andrew Krynin revealed a pair of nude images on a public call, prompting responses from the Near team.

A former employee of layer-1 blockchain platform Near Protocol showed nude images while sharing his screen on a public call, coinciding with a tidy price bump for native token NEAR.

Andrew Krynin, ex-development manager, was on a livestream with Near core contributor Cameron Dennis when two titillating images appeared on the screen, providing viewers with a look at the files saved on his laptop.

The only thing that he said was, uh God damn it,” Krynin said. After two seconds of silence, his screen sharing stopped. This surprise private show neatly coinciding with Valentine’s Day Eve did not go unnoticed.

Near Protocol responds to livestream incidents.

The Clips of the video swiftly made the rounds on X, prompting Near Protocol to issue some advice: “Top tip: use one laptop for personal stuff, another device for crypto and work. secure your private keys and also other things and never goon,” the account finished.

Near issued a more formal apology hours later, stating:

“Earlier today, an ecosystem partner inadvertently live-streamed content that did not meet our standards. We take full responsibility and have removed the video. We apologize to our community for this incident”.

Krynin responded to the incident with two social posts, varying wildly in tone. He first shared his wallet address and asked for donations.

Ten hours later, Krynin posted an apology to “the ONLY person” he had wronged — his girlfriend. Still, he wrapped up the post by assuring “all the women” that if a man has naked photos on his laptop, it “doesn’t mean he is disrespectful; it means he really likes you.”

Onlookers perceived the incident light-heartedly, with some pointing out that the real crime could be found in other downloaded files on Krynin’s laptop. “This is such a very bad look for Near,” one X user wrote.

Near Protocol’s NEAR$3.47 token has steadily risen in value since the event occurred, up nearly 6% at the time of writing.
