What Attack did Milan Experience?

The tactic used by the hackers was discovered to be the Denial of Service to flood the website with illegal traffic thereby causing a breach in the Italian foreign website. By Thursday evening, the website was set back and inaccessible until Friday. Other websites that were tremendously hit include the National Association of Public Prosecutors.

Killnet has been known for their invasive attacks in Italy. Police reported how the attack was disrupted by the group last week against the  Eurovision Song Contest in Italy, where the Ukrainian entry won the contest. Intrusive occurrences on the government’s website are due to Killnet as they deploy on target systems causing political threats

Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Italy had one of the closest relationships with Moscow among Western European countries. But since the start of the war, the Italian government under Prime Minister Mario Draghi has shown unwavering support for sending arms and other supplies to help Ukraine.

Denial of service attack is used to make the website inaccessible but it doesn’t have all confidential data unlike the ransomware attack

Also Thursday, Killnet published on one of its Telegram channels what appeared to be the photo and personal information page of the passport of Jens Stoltenberg, the secretary-general of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Cybersecurity measures and solutions have been put in place on IT systems and infrastructure to identify malicious websites by hackers.
