Israel Focuses on New Project, Cyber Dome, to Elevate Their National Cybersecurity
OkIsrael’s director general of Cybersecurity, Gaby Portnoy, announced at the CyberWeek conference a new project called the Cyber-Dome. The Cyberdome is an artificial intelligence big data, built for cyber defense.
CyberWeek is an annual cybersecurity conference, held in Tel Aviv, Israel and hosted by the Israel National Cyber Directorate (INCD).
Thus, the Israel Cybersecurity department will be collaborating with people around the world on the project which Portnoy believes is the most prominent dimension of future warfare.
Gaby Portnoy said the Cyber-Dome will elevate Israel’s cybersecurity by implementing new mechanisms of cyber defense. He further stated that the Cyber-Dome will provide tools for the protection of Israel’s digital assets and reduce threats.
A Serious Need for a Cyber Dome
A review of the Israel Cyberattacks shows that the nation’s medical sector, on a weekly basis, suffered more than 1,400 attempts. Even after stopping most of the attacks, the INCD still believes it is crucial to tighten up cyber defenses. Similar to the Iron Dome, the Cyber Dome will protect vulnerable infrastructure within its domain.
Portnoy said at the conference that the project will shift the focus from mere resilience to broadening security gaps. Emphasizing the need to protect national assets, he added that cybersecurity protocols used for critical infrastructure must be available to the government and private sectors.
He maintained that by providing organizations with better cybersecurity resources like smart identification policies and improving risk management, it will be harder for attackers to complete their missions.
On the whole, Portnoy said that cooperation and mutual responsibility are vital. He reiterated that the struggle against cyber aggression is not a one-man job, and there is a need for massive partnerships with other nations.
