Israel Could Experience Cyber Attacks From Malaysia This Week
Every April, Israel is always known to be under cyber attack by the anonymous anti-Israel hacker group which coordinates OpIsrael. The campaign boasts of some hactivists who attacked the Israeli government and private websites with denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks and other related types of attack.
The threat actors are set to launch a new offensive on Israel and themed “OpsBedil.” Sources say it will replace the now-defunct Anonymous operation, OpIsrael. The new campaign will be conducted by a group known as DragonForce Malaysia, a pro-Palestinian hacker group located in Malaysia.
Israel May Experience Attacks This Week
The operation is set to be reactionary and follows physical and political confrontations in the Middle East. Their operations tend to have more presence in the months April to July. Based on the timing, the offensive may start this week.
The coordinators of these campaigns have also been observed working with other groups like the T3 Dimension team and RileksCrews. The hacktivists of DragonForce Malaysia along with other threat actors, began targeting several organizations in Israel with defacements, denials of service attacks and data leaks.
Radware, a cybersecurity organization, confirmed several defacement attacks by DragonForce Malaysia and members of T3 Dimension team. According to Radware, the defacements cite escalating tensions in the Middle East during Ramadan as their justification for cyberattacks and call for hackers to unite and campaign against Israel.
The current defacements are similar to the previous attacks that occurred last year. The threat actors have been exchanging information about compromised and leaked sensitive information through a Google dork query(dork).
Since their campaign, they have also claimed several data leaks by sending unwanted and antisemitic messages to Israelis. Radware stated further that DragonForce are making use of mobile devices and virtual machines loaded with Kali or Parrot linux.
These machines are to be their primary platform and also DDoS tools and scripts such as Slow Loris, DDoS-Ripper, Hammer.
More on DragonForce
The threat actors created a website in 2021, which now has over 13,000 members already registered and 11,000 discussion threads. They are also known to also be making use of the popular social media platform Tik Tok to recruit more hackers, share details and also coordinate attacks.
The report also states that organizations closely associated with Israel could become targets of DragonForce Malaysia and are at high risk of experiencing an attack during this period.
