Israel Declares State Of Emergency As Key Infrastructures Suffers Cyber Attacks

Loading

Israel suffers its biggest cyber attack ever. The cyber assault took down websites for the nation’s interior, health, justice and welfare ministries, as well as that of the prime minister’s office. All are pages on Israel’s gov.il domain.

In response to the attacks, Israel’s cyber protection agency declared a state of emergency Monday as the country’s government websites went down in an apparent online attack.

The extent of the damage is still unclear as officials said they were checking with Israeli power and water companies to see if they had been affected, though Israel’s utility websites appeared to be functioning normally.

Who attacked Israel?

That is the question on everyone’s mind. Israeli officials suspected the attack was the work of another country but maintained that they could not yet determine who was responsible.

However, the public have formed their opinion on the matter already. One Twitter user, Johnny, said the attacks came a few hours after the said nation declared its intentions to go against sanctions on Russia.

Few hours after they announce they will not go against sanctions on Russia… just saying.

Meanwhile, Johnny’s comments beg more questions. Other users are clear to mention names. They cited recent aggression by Iran and postulated that the cyber assault might have been another bid by the country to avenge the death of its officers.
Another Twitter user, Stanislav, likened the cyber attack to a series of aggressions on Ukraine before a final invasion. He ended the comment by raising concerns about if the Iron Dome would survive a full-scale cyber assault. Will we see an invasion soon?
