Iraqi Hackers Target Critical Israeli Infrastructure

Loading

Iraqi hackers known as al-Tahera announced that they had targeted several Israeli infrastructure. In their latest report, they claimed to have launched DDos attack on Israel’s Airport Authority website.

The assault was successful as the Zionist body affirmed that it was experiencing a DDos attack. However, the said group claimed the website suffered no damage and no critical information was lost.

Previous Attacks on Israeli Infrastructure

This is not the first time the Iraqi group has launched a cyber assault on Israel. On Tuesday, the group announced through the Sabereen telegram channel that it had successfully conducted DDoS attacks against the websites of the ‘Israeli’ Russian-language Channel 9 and KAN news.

Minutes after the cyber offensive, the highlighted channels were inaccessible to the public but services were quickly recovered as they were operational a few hours later. The objectives of the assault were attained.

Sabereen claimed that the timing of the attack was in honor of the late Islamic Revolution Guard [IRG] Quds Force commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani. He is said to have been assassinated at 01:02 UTC, which coincides with the timing of the campaign.

While there has been no counter action from Israel, it remains to be seen what the country will do as the Iraqi Special Forces threaten to carry out operations on Iraqi grounds against the Zionist entity.

Last month, Israel suffered its biggest cyber attack ever. The cyber assault took down websites for the nation’s interior, health, justice and welfare ministries, as well as that of the prime minister’s office. All are pages on Israel’s gov.il domain.

The extent of the damage is still unclear as officials said they were checking with Israeli power and water companies to see if they had been affected, though Israel’s utility websites appeared to be functioning normally. Unfortunately, there have been updates on the attackers.
