Hackers Expose Sensitive Data Of US Government And Its Citizens

On the dark web, a ransomware operative has announced its leak of the US government’s sensitive data on important figures and citizens. The group known as Snatch Gang revealed on X (Previously known as Twitter)  how vulnerable the data of the US citizens are.

According to the announcement, the hackers revealed data on eight (8) important figures with one being a wanted criminal on the FBI list. The list includes figures like Joe Biden, Christopher Wray, Antony Blinken, Kimberly Cheatle, William Burns, Lloyd Austin, and Ashley Montalvo a wanted criminal on the FBI’s top 10 list.

Furthermore, the hackers asserted that they took 75% of the leaks from semi-hidden sources that any average citizen can access without any hindrance. Additionally, only 25% of the leaked data are from targeted attacks on the US government servers.

The reported occurrence garnered public interest as many deduced that US data security is weak and needs some security measures. The hackers opined that ‘All US citizens’ data is in open access on the internet, your government is committing genocide against its citizens’. in its own words.

Furthermore, the threat actors antagonized the system and its ruling policy, claiming that the US migration policy, non-traditional values, and leaking the citizens to the public internet is a cyber genocide.

According to the statement, the threat actors claimed full responsibility and stated that the US government had failed its citizens. Additionally, they asserted that they exposed the data to public access without the consent of the public.

Hacker Move $2.5 million BUSD in a Frantic Bid to Withdraw

On January 22, PeckShield Alert, an on-chain analytics platform, reported the transfer of 2.5 million BUSD from the BNB Chain to Ethereum using the Li.fi protocol, a decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator. This transfer involved converting assets to 812 ETH and around $500,000 in stablecoins.
