Elon Musk, who recently dedicated interest in becoming the owner of Twitter, says he’s keen to revolutionize the social platform.

According to reports, a meeting was held on thursday with Twitter employees and Elon Musk about his plans for Twitter if the deal is finalized. He said in the meeting about his plans to eliminate bots and fake accounts from Twitter.

He also talked about encouraging free speech and making sure the platform is comfortable for users to exercise their right to free speech.

Elon Musk Maintains is Commitment to Freedom of Speech

He made it clear to employees that encouraging free speech is a priority for the company, he said. “We should allow people to say what they want. It is essential to have free speech and for people to able to communicate freely.” He said that Twitter should also work to avoid the spread of offensive content for other users to feel comfortable.

“There is freedom of speech and freedom of reach,” Elon further stated. “Anyone can just go into Times Square right now and say anything they want. They can just walk into the middle of Times Square and deny the Holocaust.

That does not mean that it should be promoted to millions of people. I think people should be allowed to say pretty outrageous things that are within the bounds of the law but that don’t get amplified and don’t get a ton of reach.”

Elon Musk also spoke about building profitability. He said he plans to boost the platform’s growth by attracting millions of users as changes continue. The platform currently has over 200 million users and it is difficult to get the exact amount of real users as bots are still parading the platform, Elon Musk aims for the platform to have up to a billion active users.

The employees also asked questions, clarifying their roles in the company. They asked if they would continue to work for the company remotely. Elon Musk made it clear that the preferred form of work would be for employees to work in an office, however the requirement would have some flexibilities.

He said: “There is one hit that takes it remotely, because it does reduce the espirit de corps. Even if someone is working remotely, they’ve got to come in sometimes so they recognize their colleagues. The bias for me may be strongly towards working in person, but if somebody is exceptional then remote work can be okay.”
