Binance’s former CEO, Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has called on Elon Musk to ban automated bots on X, citing misinformation and annoying interactions. CZ wants to ban these bots, emphasizing his desire to interact only with humans on the platform and not AI bots.

In his words, wrote, “I think X should ban all bots, I only want to interact with humans here.” He further stressed the need to curb misinformation, particularly regarding cryptocurrencies.

While acknowledging AI agents’ usefulness in tasks like booking tickets, hotels and writing code, CZ stated, “I don’t need to ‘socialize’ with them.” He also described automated comments as “really annoying.”

CZ Says Fake Accounts and “Lazy” AI Bots on X

In October 2024, CZ addressed X’s approach to account management, highlighting the need to clear fake accounts. He warned users about impersonators and scammers using his name “CZ” in their handles.

Recently, he criticized AI bots for being “lazy,” despite his interest in exploring AI technology in blockchains. After his release from prison in September, he has been vocal about AI’s potential and limitations.

He noted that AI chatbots often require users to know what to ask, stating, “I don’t know what I don’t know. I don’t know what to ask. It would be good if it could just tell me things I should know. So lazy.”

He suggested that AI should provide users with relevant information without prompting, highlighting that AI requires human guidance to be really effective.

AI Spam Bot Epidemic on X

Over a year after Elon Musk acquired X with the vow to eradicate bots. But with this promise unfulfilled, the problem has worsened. An analyst on X bot networks at the Queensland University of Technology, discovered a crypto bot network utilizing AI to produce content.

He suspects that these bots operate without human oversight, thereby employing automated routines to evade detection algorithms. According to his report, “One fake bot account was stacked on top of the other.” “It’s AI bots all the way down.”
