Iran claims to have been targeted by unknown hackers. It alleged that its infrastructure was the main focus of the cyber offensive but was unsuccessful as the advance was thwarted.

Iranian AFTA presidential strategic management center was responsible for mitigating the assaults. As per the report, the attackers aimed at exploiting a security gap in one of the softwares that were commonly used by infrastructures.

The outline also alleged that the threat actors were from the Netherlands, US and UK as they were denied permission for IP addresses. These addresses were said to be the main access to the backdoor that would have led to a successful campaign.

Iran Lost Its Agriculture Ministry Website

According to a Twitter user, several websites of the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture have been seized or experienced cyber attacks. This action was taken by hackers in support of the ongoing protest by farmers against the government.

Pictures of the country’s resistance leaders were posted of the sites with the caption, “viva Rajavi, down with Khamenei.

The protests, which began in November last year, are gaining more traction as Iran fails to meet demand from farmers. They cried out over the persistent drought and call on the government to release water from the dam to irrigate the farmlands.

Away from the protests, some Iranian hackers were suspected of attacking an Israeli government website last month.
